Manchester area news from May meeting

Hi Everybody

On 23rd April it was both national drive it day and St Georges day, so we had a run out around the Cheshire countryside starting with a nice hearty breakfast at Woodford garden centre, we had a good turn out of Triumphs and had no mechanical problems on route, with only a couple getting lost on the trip. All our cars had St Georges flags hanging on them, think joe public liked them going off the amount of beeps we got. Thanks to Derek for arranging the route , true professional as he only got lost once following his own route lol. Wayne & Anne had their newly refurbished convertible hood frame fitted to their mk1 Stag, was fun seeing how many members it took to get it down for the first time, sure they will now be able to enjoy open top motoring from now on.

In April a few of our members attend the Lancaster Brewery Festival, taking their Triumphs on a run out through the Trough of Bowland, one for our diary next year.

We only had nine members attend our May meeting, quite a few down on our regular numbers , but most advised me ahead of the meeting why they couldn't attend. We welcomed a new member Ant with his Mimmosa yellow GT6 which he shares with his dad. Also a possible new member Keith bobbed in briefly to introduce himself, he has a TR7 and said he was interested in joining the club.

Neils got most of his front chassis on his Spitfire Brum all welded up and painted, so next is re-installing the engine.

I've stripped the bulkhead of its heater blower, battery and brake and clutch cylinders on my Vitesse 6 ready for prepping and painting in body colour old english white.

The planning of our Manchester area weekend to be held 1st to 3rd September is taking shape, a sci fi themed fun packed weekend held at Elm Cottage touring park, Winsford. The weekend is named "Sci Tri weekend", keep a look out in the courier for details of when and how to book. Hope to see some new and familiar faces there, should be fun.

Event coming up in June are, we have six members are setting off for the annual pilgrimage to Laon Historique, while some of us are attending the Dales run weekend organised by West Yorkshire area, so hopefully will see some of your there.

We have created a diary of events / runs out etc , this is updated and handed out at our monthly meetings, or please visit our facebook page, click the info tab then scroll down to files, then download "tssc events 2017" please check through these events to see if any are of interest to you and keep upto date of posts on Facebook, most of the events you will need to book direct, so don't leave it too late.

Please look through the photo gallery shown below of what we have recently been up to.
